Responsible for all aspects of hospital programs to ensure compliance with DNV, JCAHO, LSC, CMS, OSHA, ADA, FDA, DOT, EPA, and other appropriate standards and regulations. Managed safety, emergency management and hazardous materials education and training programs for all employees, volunteers, medical and professional staff, and other appropriate parties. Responsible for worker compensation claims management as well as the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to policies, procedures and practices to provide a safe, functional, supportive and effective environment of care for patients, visitors and staff. Intervened whenever conditions posed an immediate threat to life, property or health. Participated in pre-construction risk assessments and evaluation of systems, i.e. drills, inspections, including human factors, to achieve zero defects for the Environment of Care and Physical Environment programs. Served as the Incident Command Liaison with regulatory agencies, emergency responders, and other agency support organizations (GHA, AHA, VHA, Red Cross, etc.) to foster coordinated efforts in emergency situations.
