My professional background reflects a wide range of experience and achievements in financial reporting in both Latin America and the United States including: Period end closings, consolidations, account reconciliations; preparation and analysis of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements; operational excellence in an automotive and aerospace manufacturing environment; ‘Sarbanes Oxley’ compliance from narratives to full remediation of significant deficiencies and material weaknesses; productivity improvements, cost reductions and cost avoidance programs; the implementation of corporate policies and procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting. The enclosed résumé outlines my 17 years of experience, highlights of which are included in the following: Strategic Planning: Authored strategy for growth in South America by opening two successful sales offices in La Paz, Bolivia and Quito, Ecuador. Implemented client self-assessments, policies, procedures, internal controls and key monitoring activities to completely remediate all significant deficiencies and material weaknesses as required by the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. Cost Containment/Reduction: Adjusted to a $40 million drop in revenue by improving conversion costs by 8%. Initiated and tracked cost reduction programs amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars in yearly savings. Improved productivity from two wheels per hour worked to three wheels per hour worked by better labor hour management and material handling reductions. Led a team in scrap reduction on 18” aluminum Nissan wheels, reducing scrap from over 25% to under 15%. Discretionary spending was the lowest of six plants in North America. Cash Flow Improvements: Improved inventory turns from 14.3 to 32.6 through lean manufacturing initiatives. Assisted credit department in aggressively pursuing over 90-day balances, lowering the overall balance from $460k to under $165k. Improved balance sheet to accurately reflect obsolescence, reserve accounts, prepaid assets, accrued expenses and A/P accruals. Manufacturing: Developed standard costs, including standard labor rates and overhead absorption percentages. Supervised daily plant walk-throughs in absence of General Manager. Successfully completed courses in value stream mapping, six sigma, lean manufacturing and Kaizen philosophy. Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Quality Systems’ Auditor.
