RssElectrician/Maintenance Technician

Performs skilled journeyman electrical work at an advanced wastewater treatment plant. Participates in the maintenance, installation and repair of electrical control panels and electrical circuits, motors, distribution centers, breakers, pumps, motor controls, switch gears, relays, regulators and other electrical or electronic equipment. Uses wastewater-related computer software to maintain work orders, requisition parts, supplies, and on line O&M. Installs and programs variable frequency drives. Performs necessary repairs and replacements of various electrical components in accordance with electrical code and safety guidelines. Tests effectiveness of corrective action. Responds to routine and emergency service calls after normal working hours. Performs overhead and underground work to include excavation, trenching and shoring; performs work on systems that contain hazardous chemicals that are acidic, highly corrosive, heat producing and potentially explosive; performs work in permitted confined spaces, hazardous areas that require respiratory protection and personal protective gear, slippery and wet conditions. Identifies required parts from equipment diagram or parts lists and assists in the reviews of as-built drawings for identification and isolation of lines, equipment or process. Uses wastewater-related computer software to maintain work orders, requisition parts, and online O&M manual. Creates work orders, requisitions of equipment, parts, documentation and time and attendance approvals with the use of personal computers. Performs related duties as required.
