RssOver 22 yrs of hospice and palliative care experience, MSN/FNP-C. FNP since 2011

My career goal is to build on my extensive nursing career as a RN and integrate those skills into my new role as an FNP. Iam patient, and work well under tense situations. When patient's trust you, everything works smoother. For me, the clinical part is less anxiety producing, than forming the therapeutic relationship. Having worked in hospice for over 20 yrs gave me the ability to read the environment. Everything comes so much smoother when we know what to say, and when to say it. continuing to see each patient fully, body, mind and spirit. Hospice gave me the opportunity to bond with my patients and fully grasp the social situations that impact their health. As an FNP I am able to more effectively use my clinical skills more autonomously. I welcome working well with all patients who need clinical involvement, those persons with acute and/or chronic health issues. My many years as a hospice clinician has afforded me the privilege to assess individuals using my skills, and to build those skills: to assess, diagnose, plan, intervention, and evaluate as a nurse practitioner. I hope to make a positive bond with patients and the people I work with. My goal is to give the best care I can.
