SUMMARY: I am a recent graduate from Morehouse School of Medicine with a master's in public health. I graduated from Spelman College with a degree in Biology. In addition, I also graduated from Covenant C.N.A. School Patient Care Technician Program that included Certified Nursing Assistant Classroom Instruction, Practical Training, and External Clinical Practice, in a long term acute care facility. Phlebotomy training includes over 150 venipunctures 50 capillary sticks and numerous electrocardiogram (ECG) readings. In addition, learned theory and practical training in obtaining adequate ECG and successful blood specimens by capillary and/or venipuncture samples from volunteers, while observing safety precautions as mandated by the clinical laboratory improvement amendments and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. RELEVANT COURSEWORK: ECG: Introduction to Electrocardiography, ECG Equipment and Supplies, Medical Terminology, Anatomy of the Heart, Physiology of the Heart, Anatomy of the Cardiovascular System, Physiology of the Cardiovascular System, ECG Interpretation, Vital Signs, Specialized Procedures Related to Electrocardiography, and Safety Considerations. Phlebotomy: Vital Signs, Medical Terminology, Phlebotomy, Anatomy and Physiology, Patient Preparation, Blood Collection Techniques, Specimen Collection, Pharmacology, OSHA, and Standard and Universal precautions.
